We recommend booking at least 4–6 weeks in advance, especially for summer weekends and fall color season (late September through October). Last-minute availability does open up occasionally — check our booking page for current openings.

Our minimum rental is 3 nights. A flat weekly rate of $599 applies for 7-night rentals — saving you $100 off the nightly rate.

Cancellations made 14 or more days before your pickup date receive a full refund of the deposit. Cancellations within 14 days forfeit the $150 deposit. We're happy to help reschedule when possible — just reach out as early as you can.

Yes. A $150 deposit is required at booking to secure your dates. The remaining balance is due at pickup. We accept all major credit cards through our secure checkout.

We rent Timberleaf Classic teardrop campers — handcrafted in Colorado with a hardwood interior, queen-size sleeping platform, full galley kitchen, and a 100Ah lithium battery system. They're compact enough for any campsite but fully outfitted for a comfortable stay.

Most standard SUVs, trucks, and crossovers can tow our campers. The Timberleaf Classic weighs approximately 1,200 lbs loaded. Your vehicle should have a 1-7/8" or 2" ball hitch rated for at least 2,000 lbs. We're happy to confirm compatibility before your trip.

Every rental includes a queen sleeping platform with premium bedding, two-burner propane stove, 12V refrigerator/cooler, camp chairs and table, LED lighting, USB charging ports, a 100Ah lithium battery, and a basic camp kitchen kit (cookware, utensils, cutting board). Teardrop campers are designed for sleeping and cooking — they don't include an onboard bathroom. We recommend staying at campgrounds with shower facilities. Door County State Parks and many private campgrounds offer excellent amenities.

Pickup and drop-off is at our base in Sturgeon Bay, WI — the gateway to Door County. Exact address and directions are provided in your booking confirmation. We're conveniently located just off Highway 42/57.

This is a self-hitch-and-go rental. Pickup is available at noon or later on your pickup date. Drop-off is by 11:00 AM on your end date. Early pickup or late drop-off may be available for an additional fee — contact us to arrange.

Yes — DoorSky is a self-hitch-and-go experience. We'll walk you through the hitch-up process at pickup so you feel confident before you leave. The Timberleaf Classic uses a standard 2" ball coupler and connects in minutes. No experience required.

We don't currently offer delivery, but it's something we're exploring for the future. All rentals are self-tow from our Sturgeon Bay location.

Wisconsin state sales tax (5%), Wisconsin rental vehicle tax (5%), and Door County local tax (0.5%) apply — totaling 10.5%. This is calculated and shown transparently during checkout before you confirm your booking.

There are no mileage limits — the camper is towed by your vehicle, so you drive as far as you like. There's no generator on board; the 100Ah lithium system handles all your power needs without extra fees.

Renters are responsible for damage beyond normal wear and tear. We conduct a thorough walk-through at pickup and drop-off. We strongly recommend checking your personal auto insurance or credit card travel benefits, as some policies extend coverage to towed trailers.

We love pets! Well-behaved dogs are welcome with a $50 pet fee per trip. Please keep pets off the bedding and clean up thoroughly before return. Cats and other animals are not permitted in the camper.

Our favorites include Peninsula State Park (book early — it fills fast), Newport State Park for a wilderness feel, and Potawatomi State Park near Sturgeon Bay. Private options like Quietwoods South offer full hookups if you want shore power for the battery.

Summer (June–August) is peak season with warm weather and full amenities. Fall (late September–October) is spectacular for foliage and harvest festivals with fewer crowds. Spring brings cherry blossoms in May. We rent year-round — winter camping is possible for the adventurous!

Yes — campground reservations are separate from your camper rental. Wisconsin State Park reservations open 11 months in advance at reserveamerica.com. We recommend booking your campsite first, then reserving your camper to match those dates.
